But is it not the case that the average amount is falling?

3% less work, 10% less money earned.

In the end, I too stopped "writing, not translating" and went with "translation."

That's because there's a trade-off between improving the quality of the translation and mixing it with the obscure task of writing.

I have delicate feelings about publishing a potentially incorrect translation in the guise of a translation of my text.

But essentially, machine translation could always be wrong, so maybe it's wrong to worry about it?
